How I make Tinctures
All my tinctures are unique and handcrafted which means, I research; formulate; prepare; and bottle them myself. The herbs are steeped in a liquid, which is a food grade alcohol. Vodka works great or if you want your tincture to be gluten-free you can use rum. Let your tincture steep for at least six weeks and shake it on a daily basis.
The alcohol is called the menstruum and is approximately 50% water and 50% alcohol. This is a perfect combination as the water extracts the water based properties of the herbs and the alcohol extracts the oil based properties. Shaking the herbs while they are in the menstruum hastens the release of the herbs’ healing properties and ensures that the tincture is potent.
I consider every step in this process a responsibility and a bond of trust that I am beholden to. I am a Reiki Master as well as an Herbalist. Therefore I am very mindful of the energy that I introduce to this mix. This means, that if for any reason I am frustrated; angry or annoyed, I will not work on your tinctures. To my way of thinking, working on, or handling these tinctures while in an agitated state would be as counter productive as folding fresh linen with muddy hands. It just doesn’t make sense.
The herbs are putting their best into your tinctures and it is incumbent upon me to do the same.
After the six weeks have passed, it is time to strain the herbs. Before this is done I attune the mixture with Healing Energy. In doing so, you not only benefit from the healing properties of the herbs, but the tincture itself becomes a channel for Loving, Healing Energy.
Those of you, whom have placed orders with The Healing Path, may have noticed a sweet scent upon opening your package. I use essential oils that have a high vibration (frequency) to protect the shipment from any base energy it might encounter in transit. One can never be too careful. To you from me with…
