There are many things that effect cholesterol levels in blood chemistry other than your dietary intake of cholesterol. If you have been diagnosed with high cholesterol; chances are you were provided a low fat diet to follow. Even if you have followed the diet to the letter it probably didn’t do much to lower your cholesterol levels. This is because most low fat diets are loaded with refined carbohydrates that are turned to cholesterol in the liver; for this reason I recommend the South Beach Diet or the Zone Diet (or any healthy low carbohydrate diet that includes fiber and fresh vegetables) that will improve circulation and heart health as well as a good blood purifier. The diet limits carbohydrates but equally important, the carbohydrates that it allows are healthy ones such as vegetables, whole grains, legumes and brown or wild rice. A good diet and Blood Purifier can make you and your doctor happy when you get your blood work results. And this can be achieved without using dangerous statin drugs.




To help keep a healthy balance between HDLs and LDLs (good and bad cholesterol) it is important to consume healthy oils such as olive oil, grapeseed, walnut oil, flaxseed oil and Omega 3 fatty acids to increase HDLs  (high density lipids or “good cholesterol”). Replace all cooking oils with olive oil or safflower oil and use grapeseed oil whenever you are cooking or frying at high temperatures. The more of these healthy oils that improve circulation you can incorporate into your diet the better. The reason it is so important to avoid trans-fats is that this type of fat is found nowhere in nature, therefore it’s very difficult if not impossible for your body to assimilate. Avoid all cottonseed oil, canola oil, corn oil and soy oil as they are 90% genetically modified (GMOs)

Fiber is a great blood purifier and such an important ally in the battle to keep cholesterol levels down. Fiber improves digestion and fights colon cancer. Do you get your 20-30 grams a day? 90% of Americans do not. Some good sources of fiber are, wheat bran, Wheat germ, beans, cabbage, broccoli, flaxseed, sauerkraut, Low carb wraps, light bread and whole grain cereal such as “Uncle Sam’s”. 
Metamucil is a very good way to supplement your fiber intake. It is made from the seed of the plantain plant (psyllium seed).




To lower blood sugar, a carbohydrate restricted diet is perfect for regulating it. Many people believe they are eating a healthy diet because they don’t eat sugar, but what you may not realize is that eating refined flour, white rice and potatoes cause your blood sugar to spike as quickly as plain sugar. Whole grains, on the other hand in which the bran (outer layer of grain which is high in fiber) and the germ (the healthy oily heart of the grain that is packed with protein and fiber) are present, cause blood sugar to rise at a slower rate. Perhaps you have heard this referred to as the glycemic index. This is important because when the blood sugar rises quickly it cause the pancreas to pump out insulin to clean up the excess sugar in the blood. As the blood sugar drops, hunger returns. This is typical of someone who is a “carb-a-holic”. It also sets you up to become insulin resistant which can, if left untreated lead to diabetes.  




There are herbs that can help your liver to properly assimilate cholesterol and improve circulation such as Black Walnut and Dandelion but herbal blends work the best. * Remove white flour and all sugar from your diet as well as all refined carbs. You may use the herb “stevia” or the product “Splenda” to sweeten your food. I prefer using the herb “stevia” The way I see it, it’s just a matter of time before they find out that Splenda is as bad as “Equal” which is a neurotoxin.
 

* Add “Blood Purifier” from “The Healing Path” to your daily supplements to help out when you can’t eat right. 
 

* Add 1200mg. of Red Yeast Rice and 100mg of Co Q-10 to your daily supplements. This helps keep cholesterol a healthy level, which can help avoid poor blood circulation.
 

* Limit your intake of carbohydrates 20-25 grams per meal. Or follow the South Beach Diet. 
 

* Make sure that the carbohydrates that you do consume are mostly from vegetableswhole grains of cereals such as “All Bran”, “Fiber One”, “Uncle Sam’s” or other high fiber cereal.
 

* Avoid saturated fats and eliminate trans-fats
 

* Eat one serving of walnuts daily or add walnut oil to your diet. This will keep you arteries healthy. 


* Eat salmon at least once a week. It is a great source of Omega-3 fatty acids. 


* Take an Omega-3 supplement. (Preferably from Norwegian cod liver oil or flaxseed) this also will improve circulation


* Get as 20-30 grams of dietary fiber daily. You will be gassy at first until your body acclimates. 
 
* Increase your physical activity

* The key here is to plan your meals before you are very hungry.
