I always cherish this quiet time, putting my thoughts to paper and sharing them with you. As always I pray that this letter finds you happy, healthy and prosperous.
October is here and summer is behind us now as we enjoy the bounty of autumn and prepare for winter. I love the change of seasons and fall is second only to spring in my book. And so goes the rhythm of life.
Now, I am always amused at how my plans are often overridden when the universe has its own plans for me. I was going to start formulation on a tincture for asthma and lung disorders. I still will, but apparently not now. Mom has arthritic nodules through out her spine that causes her great pain and her meds seem to be doing more harm than good.
So I temporarily put my work aside for the asthma tincture and started on one for Arthritis and tendonitis. In so doing I have chosen some wonderful herbs for the joints and skeletomuscular system including Devils Claw; Burdock; Horsetail and Comfrey. The healing power of Devils Claw has been borne out through extensive experiments. It has the ability to cleanse the joints, muscles and tendons of toxins. It also is a potent cleanser for arteriosclerosis, kidney, liver and bladder disease as well as arthritis.
Burdock helps rid the joints of calcification, cleanses the blood and nourishes the pituitary gland.
Horsetail contains silica, which is vital in strengthening and regenerating connective tissue (found abundantly in joints). It is also an astringent for the urinary tract.
Comfrey has been used for centuries to mend broken bones that refuse to heal on their own. Its other uses include aid for the respiratory system; ulcers; burns; sprains and leg cramps, just to mention a few.
And you wonder why I love these herbs so much, while formulating a tincture for arthritis and tendonitis; look at all the added benefits they provide.
I am always interested in your feedback. Each of you have been a great inspiration to me and I would like to thank you. Also I would like to ask each of you to keep my dear sister in-law, Janet in your prayers as she works her way through some health difficulties. Thank you.
Love and Light, Lori
